Hazel, Atlantic, 2006.tiff
J.W. Robinson and his son Dennis Robinson of Atlantic built the HAZEL in 1920 for the long-haul fishing trade. The boat eventually was acquired by John Lupton of Cedar Island who gave it to his son-in-law Leonard Goodwin of Atlantic. Goodwin still uses the boat in his pound-net operations, although the boat has been changed. Goodwin had the HAZEL's original stern lengthened at Harkers Island and he also modified it by adding a deck and by squaring it off. The HAZEL has the high cabin characteristic of the workboats built in Atlantic.
