Core Sound Fishing (16 images)
Long-haul fishing was once practiced in several fishing villages in Down East North Carolina, especially in the village of Atlantic. Long-haulers would leave home on a Sunday afternoon and fish for a week in Core Sound, Pamlico Sound and in the Neuse River. Long-hauling is a form of seine fishing. It requires two boats, two skiffs and six men.
