Kimberly M. Smith and Our Kids, Atlantic.tiff
James Gillikin of Harkers Island built the KIMBERLY M. SMITH (right) in 1977 as a run boat for the Luther Smith Seafood Co. of Atlantic. Note the straight bow of this boat compared to the flared bow of the OUR KIDS, next to it. Both were built in Harkers Island, but the flared bow is considered a signature style of that community's boatbuilders. The KIMBERLY M. SMITH was named after the daughter of Billy Smith who owned the fish house then.
